- Advertising partner cookies
Some of our advertising partners and third-party ad networks on this website may use cookies and web beacons on our site. Our advertising partners include, amongst others, Zazzle, Amazon, eBay. These third-party ad servers or ad networks are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and / or to personalize the advertising content that you see.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, product feeds etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Affiliate Content & Tracking
This site uses two data processing methods to provide free product listings:
- Product Images
Listing pages load images directly from eBay’s servers. This transmits your IP address and standard browser information to eBay. No cookies are set by these image requests. We rely on legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f) / UK GDPR) for this processing. - Smart Links
Affiliate links use eBay Partner Network Smart Links for commission attribution. This only runs once you’ve given consent via our cookie settings (Marketing category). You can change your choice at any time via our cookie preferences. Clicking a tracked link transmits technical data (IP address, timestamp, session information) to eBay for commission tracking. - eBay’s role
eBay acts as an independent controller. Their privacy practices are set out in their privacy notice. We don’t control how eBay uses this information. - Your rights
You can object to image loading by using a browser or extension that blocks third-party images; the rest of the site will still function. You can withdraw consent for Smart Links at any time via our cookie settings. - Location and marketplace selection
To show you the right eBay marketplace, we use your IP address to work out which country you’re visiting from. This is done on our own web server, using the hosting provider’s location database, and only the country is used. We don’t look up, store or use your city, region or postcode, and your IP address isn’t sent to any third-party location service.
If your country is one of the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada or Australia, we preselect that eBay marketplace for you. In all other cases we default to the US marketplace. You can change the marketplace at any time using the drop-down menu, and we’ll remember your choice for the rest of your visit using a session cookie. This cookie is not used for tracking or advertising, and it expires when you close your browser.
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include visitors’ IP addresses, for security and technical purposes.
- Share tools
If you take the opportunity to share PennyBlack1840.com content with friends through social networks – such as Facebook and Twitter – you may be sent cookies from these websites. We don’t control the setting of these cookies, so please check the third-party websites for more information about their cookies and how to manage them. - WordPress comment form cookies
When a visitor comments on PennyBlack1840.com, they too get cookies stored on their computer. This is purely a convenience, so that the visitor won’t need to re-type all their information again when they want to leave another comment. Three cookies are set for comments (comment_author, comment_author_email, and comment_author_url). The commenter cookies are set to expire a little under one year from the time they’re set.
